A HEREFORD charity shop is appealing for winter clothes to help the families hit hardest by the recession.

Wye’s Buys charity shop in Newton Farm is in desperate need of baby to adult winter clothes to help those in and around Hereford who can’t necessarily afford to buy warm coats and hats this winter.

Audrey Pask, a volunteer in the Newton Farm Community Association information centre, which runs the charity shop, said the outlet is vital for those finding it hard to get by.

She said: “So many are struggling to finds jobs and with the weather changing, the clothes are flying out of the shop much faster than they are coming in.

“We just want to help the community in the best way we can.”

The shop is also in need of toys and Christmas decorations with the holidays getting closer.

To donate clothes, visit either Wye’s Buys or the information centre at The Oval, Newton Farm.
