A HEREFORD care provider has celebrated its 18th birthday.

Kemble Care was set up by Sharon and Michael King to give quality care to people in their own homes by trained staff.

It is now led by their son Peter King, who joined the celebration at Hereford Town Hall.

Councillor Olwyn Barnett, chairman of Herefordshire Council, was also at the event and helped cut the celebratory cake with Frank Harwood, the husband of a client who features on Kemble Care’s website, and Councillor Chris Chappell, who has been a carer with Kemble for several years.

“We live in a world of uncertainties and where, generally, money is of most importance, certainly in the world of business,”

said Coun Barnett.

“It is heartwarming that among us, there is a private company which is also determined to make a difference to its community and the families it supports.”

Mr King said Kemble now works with a number of charites, most notably Concern Universal which is based in Hereford and helps in third world development.

To mark the anniversary, Kemble Care donated £1,800 to charities and many were presented with a cheque of £100 at the party.
