VOLUNTEERS in Herefordshire who assist the Ambulance service have been recognised for their actions.
Alan Clarke, Graham Kinsey, Louise Page, Helen Wrigley and Diane Pearson all supported the professionals through their work with St John Ambulance over the past 18 months.
They turned out to a house fire in Leominster and also responded to the call when an unexploded wartime bomb was discovered.
They were commended at an awards ceremony in Worcestershire, as was Sue Watkins, from Greytree, near Ross-on-Wye, and Chrissie Johnson, from Kington.
The pair are Community First Responders and received the distinguished service award for fund-raising and supporting their local schemes while holding down a job.
