HEREFORD County Hospital is cutting back on the number of water bottles it orders for its staff.
Mike Coupe, director of business development with the Wye Valley NHS Trust, said the bottles were being phased out because they made it difficult for the hospital to manage waterborne disease.
They will be replaced by piped water fountains although Mr Coupe added that some bottles would be kept close to staff kitchens where drinking water is also available.
