A COUNTY medic was the opening act for Gordon Brown at the launch of a new group to help unstable countries.

Dr Malcolm Russell, managing director of Prometheus Medical, gave a 10-minute demonstration of casualty care just before the Prime Minister spoke to the London launch of the UK Civilian Stabilisation Group.

This is a pool of a 1,000 experts who can rebuild states affected by conflict.

The Prime Minister later met Dr Russell when he was told about the Hopeunder- Dinmore company’s role in providing specialist training and medical equipment.
