A BUSINESS has sponsored a vital emergency service to ensure it can continue saving lives on the county’s roads.
Roger Davies, area operations manager for ATS Euromaster, has offered to sponsor Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS), which delivers advanced prehospital emergency medical care to the critically ill and injured.
“This is a significant contribution, given that we are an entirely voluntary organisation and drive our own cars, meeting running costs ourselves from purchasing the car to paying for fuel,” said Dr Malcolm Russell from MARS.
“In my own case, my car belongs to my company, Prometheus Medical Ltd, which effectively sponsors me already in the provision of the vehicle, fuel and medical consumables. This in itself costs our firm a significant amount per year.
“Having another company offering support will make this much more sustainable and allow me to continue to respond safely around our county’s roads. Keeping tyres in good condition and with adequate tread is crucial for road safety, and even more so when driving under blue light conditions.”
The tyres were fitted at ATS Euromaster’s Hereford branch in Kyrle Street.
