WOMEN over 40 are being offered checks for osteoporosis at Hereford’s Shirehall.
It is called ‘preventable screening’ and is carried out by a private company called Healthcare.
The company claims that such screening is not routinely available on the NHS and that its sessions already held across the region have so far proven very popular.
Women receive reports of the screening and, if necessary, are provided with a letter which they can take to their GP.
The osteoporosis screening session takes place at the Shirehall on Friday, January 29, from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. The test will cost £20.
For more information, or to book an appointment, call Healthcare on 0845 224 6784.
