EXHIBITION – There is a selling exhibition of Gaudy Welsh Pottery at Courtyard Antiques in the High Street from August 29 until September 5, 10- 5pm daily. For details call 01544 267033.

CLASSICAL MUSIC – The Ravoli Quartet will perform Haydn, Dvorak plus others at St Michael’s and All Angels’ Church in Lingen on August 31 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8, available by calling 01544 262896 or visiting lingen.

SHOW DAY – This Saturday is Norton Show and Fun Day at Home Farm in Norton from noon. There is loads going on including a car boot, horse show (starting at 11am), birds of prey show, children’s football tournament plus much more. Then in the evening at Norton Manor Hotel there will be a barbecue and after-show entertainment.

FUN RIDE – There is a horse fun ride on August 23, starting at the Rectory in Cascob, from 10am. The course is an 11-mile spectacular ride on Litton Hill and through the Radnor Forest. The cost is £12 for adults and £6 for children.

FESTIVAL – The annual Presteigne Festival of Music and Arts will run from August 27 to September 1 with a total of 24 events over the six days. Some events are going to be very popular if not sold out so you are advised to book. A full list of events is available at the box office in Presteigne High Street, by calling 01544 267800 or by visiting presteignefestival.com MUSIC – The Maybelles will be paying at the Duke’s Arms on Wednesday from 8.30pm. Admission is £4 and everyone is welcome.

CHURCH SERVICES – Ackhill Baptist Chuch holds services on August 23 at 11am and 6.30pm and on August 24 to 26 at 7.30pm. Evangelist Randy Bane from North Carolina in USA will be in attendance. For more details call pastor Lemuel Rivers on 01547 560134.

SUMMER CONCERT – The Llangunllo summer concert will take place at St Cynllo’s Church on August 22, at 7.30pm. The evening of entertainment and music entitled Rhythm ’n’ Pews will cost £7 for adults and £2 for children. A buffet and wine will be included. For details call 01547 550142. Proceeds will be given to St Cynllo’s Church and Hope House.

GARDEN PARTY – There is a garden party at Garden Meadow Cottage in Lingen this Sunday from 2.30-4.30pm.

This is an opportunity to see this delightful newly planned and planted garden. There will be many stalls and activities including a raffle. Any items for the bring-and-buy stall would be appreciated. All proceeds will go to Lingen Church restoration fund.

TRIP – Llangunllo Evergreens are organising a trip to Aberystwyth this Saturday. The cost is £8 per person.
