GOLDEN VALLEY ENVIRONMENT GROUP GREEN LUNCH – The Golden Valley Environment Group (GVEG) held a green lunch at Lyonshall Barn, Peterchurch, on July 26. Members of the group each brought a locally sourced dish to share with others and everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch. The purpose of the lunch was to launch a petition to establish more realistic targets for limiting global warming.
Anyone who would like to be sent a copy of the petition and make an online response should contact Peter Gunn- Wilkinson on petergw@btinternet.com.
If you would like a paper copy, call 01981 550700.
The group also had a talk by Laurence Matthews on the 350 Parts Per Million campaign, which is a worldwide campaign to make the media and politicians aware of the popular support for stronger targets to secure climate control. The big day of action for the 350 Campaign is October 24. If anyone has ideas or would like to be involved, contact Alison and Laurence at laurencematthews@hotmail.co.uk.
