VILLAGE BIG EVENT - A weekend of fun-filled activities starts at 1pm on September 12 at Marden Community Hall with a fancy dress competition and carnival parade around the village.
From 2pm local individuals and clubs will be running more than 20 stalls in aid of local charities. For the children there will be field games and races on the playing fields. There will be a Little Princess beauty parlour where children can get their hair braided and nails manicured. There will also be a beer tent, picnic area, refreshments and music from the Bromyard Steel Pan Band. Vintage and steam-driven vehicles will be on display. At 4pm there is a grand auction in aid of the Marden Church Roof Appeal where lots include a luxury night’s stay for two in a four poster en suite room at The Green Dragon, two free range chickens, a ride on a steam engine, a drumming lesson, a trailer of well-rotted manure and much more! On September 13, events move to Marden Church and begin at 11am with a fun dog show, working crafts and arts, belltower trips, a model circus, children’s art and craft competitions, a photographic competition and refreshments all day.
