PARISH COUNCIL - At the annual parish meeting held on Tuesday, May 6, reports were heard from West Mercia Police, Madley School, Madley charities, Madley and Eaton Bishop lengthsman scheme and the Madley footpath officer. The annual meeting of the parish council followed with three planning applications. A vacancy for a parish councillor exists following the resignation of Councillor Yates. The parish council is grateful to Councillor Yates for her dedication during her time on the parish council and the great deal of effort she put into opposing the proposed waste plant. Anyone interested in applying for the vacancy should write to the parish clerk. The annual return for 2007/2008 was approved. Details of Herefordshire Council’s parish initiative scheme were read out. Minor highway defects will be reported to Herefordshire Council every three months and will then be attended to on the quarterly visits to the area. The next parish council meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 3, at 7.15pm in the parish hall.
