U3A - Following a very well attended meeting in April, when members and guests were treated to a breathtaking talk on ‘Our Place in the Cosmos’, the next monthly meeting of Kington U3A will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 2pm in the clubhouse at Kington Football Ground, Mill Street, when John Mayo-Evans will give a talk about diving on the wreck of the Titanic. Two new interest groups will be holding their first meetings during May. Following the excellent talk on astronomy at the April meeting, the first meeting of a basic astronomy group will be held at Markwick Hall, Kington, on Wednesday, May 21, at 2pm. Members £1, non-members £2, to include refreshments.
An ‘inland waterways’ group is aimed at “people with an interest in or experience of the canals and rivers of England and Wales in general and the West Midlands in particular”. The exploratory meeting will take place at Markwick Hall, on Wednesday, May 7, at 3.15pm.
