PARISH COUNCIL - The July meeting was held in the Memorial Hall with Councillor Sheen in the chair. Present were Hereford Councillor Williams and a member of the public. The Rospa inspection of the play area was carried out in April, no urgent items were identified.
Provisional arrangements are being made for a return visit by twinning representatives from Segonzac, France, in November. It was reported that three individuals had been found discharging high velocity air rifles on the common after dark. The next meeting will be held at the Memorial Hall on August 4.
YESTERDAY IN EWYAS HAROLD - This booklet compiled by people in Ewyas Harold during the 1980s has been reprinted and is for sale in the village stores £5 each. As well as stories about local families there are some interesting photographs.
GARDENS - Abbeydore Court gardens will be open tomorrow (Friday) from 10am with entrance fees donated to charity.
BARBECUE - Llangua PCC will celebrate the feast of their patron saint, St James on Saturday with a barbecue in our tranquil churchyard by the River Monnow. Everyone who is associated with Llangua village or church can join us at 7pm and the price of £5 will cover simple barbecue fare, salads and a glass of wine. While there is no need to pre-book we would appreciate it if you could let Barbara Stark know on 01981 240242 if you intend to come. You are also welcome to join us in our candlelit church for short prayers at the end of the evening. The church will be open to visitors on Sundays during the summer holidays, 2pm - 5pm, for cream teas.
