BUTTERFLY HEAVEN - Ewyas Harold Meadows were officially opened by Butterfly Conservation Society chief executive Dr Martin Warren. Thanks to an anonymous donor a large patch of flowery meadow situated alongside Ewyas Harold Common is the perfect habitat for the nationally scarce pearlbordered fritillary.
FOOTPRINTS COUNTRYWIDE - This has become a regular Friday morning activity in the village so if you want to add easy exercise into your week and improve your health why not come along for short gentle walks in enjoyable company around the village with local qualified leaders. Just turn up at 10am on Fridays in the centre of the village outside the chip shop.
Approximate duration one to two miles; please wear suitable shoes.
PRIMARY SCHOOL - There will be a leavers’ assembly tomorrow (Friday) at 1.30pm to which all are invited to help wish them good luck in their new schools.
ENGLISH CHORAL EXPERIENCE - July 19-25, in Dore Abbey. During the week there will be an exhibition of painting, pottery, glass, photography etc. Open every day to all who want to browse and buy from 10am to 6pm.
SPECIAL SERVICE - All are cordially invited to attend a service in St Michael’s Church on Wednesday at 7.30pm for the Feast of Mary Magdalene. It will be an adapted evening prayer with a celebratory flavour in which Penny Evans will be admitted and licensed to the office of reader in our group of parishes. The collection will go towards the Tanzanian Hegongo School project.
There will be nibbles and cake afterwards in St Michael’s Hall and a cake auction the proceeds of which, at Penny’s request, will go towards relief
