PRIMARY SCHOOL – The Harvest Festival service and produce sale will be tomorrow (Friday) at 1.30pm at St Michael’s Church and afterwards in the school. In the evening the PFTA is organising a Scary or What? disco starting at 6.30pm where at least 10 parents are needed to help and reception class pupils need to be accompanied.

HARVEST SUPPERS – There will be a service at 6pm at St Mary’s, Kentchurch, followed by supper at the New Salerooms, Pontrilas. Tickets at £7.50 (£5 for children) include a two-course supper. Tickets from Nigel Ward & Co. Walterstone’s harvest lunch will be in the village hall on Sunday at 1pm.

WALKERS – Next Tuesday, meet at 9.30am to go to Symonds Yat for a walk of seven to eight miles.

WILD PLAY – Next Wednesday, on Ewyas Harold recreation field between 10.30am and 12.30pm there will be ‘spooky goings on’ such as making lanterns, soup and generally getting messy. This event is sponsored by the lottery to provide outdoor open access and child-led activities for children up to 13 years of age. It is not offering childcare; parents and families are welcome. Please wear old clothes and waterproofs for wet play sessions.

PRESIDENT’S CHARITY NIGHT – The local branch of Probus is having a Hallowe’en evening on October 31, in the Memorial Hall to raise money for the teenage cancer trust Laurie Engel Fund. Tickets can be obtained from Chris Bray on 01981 240416 or David Mills on 01981 240543 and cost £30 to include entry into a draw where the first prize is £300 worth of Wyevale vouchers.

WATERAID – The pre-Christmas sale has been postponed until November 12, when it will be held in Rowlstone Hall. More details on 01873 890321.
