PRIMARY SCHOOL – The recent fundraising event for Barnardo’s raised £537.93, well done everyone! There will be a drop-in day to discuss class arrangements from 9am today (Thursday), followed by a rounders tournament at 3.30pm. KS1 multi-skills festival is on Tuesday, June 10, from 10am. Don’t forget the walking bus on Wednesday, June 11, at 8.30pm from the Memorial Hall, and Class 5 will also be having a media workshop on that day. The summer fete is on Saturday, June 14, from 3pm, all welcome.

WALKERS – The walk today (Thursday), will be around the Craswell area, a distance of four to five miles.

FRIENDS OF DORE ABBEY – The AGM will be on Saturday at 3pm in Dore Abbey. The guest speaker is our good friend Rev Dennis Monger who will speak about ‘A Mine, a Monastery, a Ministry’. We welcome everyone to hear his story; you do not have to be a member and the AGM is very short.

OPEN GARDENS – Dulas Court is opening the gardens on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm. There will be garden walks, cream teas, free entry and parking.

ALL AGE SERVICE – This will be at 10am in St Michael’s Church on Sunday. It is a time to share in the worship and have a welcome cup of tea afterwards.

CAMP OPEN DAY – Ann and Roger Jenner welcome everyone to visit their Iron Age hill fort with its ditches and ramparts and planted with unusual and specimen trees on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. The entrance gate is between Grove Cottage and Lincoln House, Walterstone Common. Refreshments available all day.

BENEFICE BIBLE STUDY GROUP – This will, as usual, be held at the Rectory from 10am to 11.30am on Tuesday, June 10. A time of fellowship as well as study.

WI – After serious discussions last month about the national resolutions, this month we will be learning about important volunteer work done in the local area. Richard Baker will be talking about the work of the Golden Valley response unit. Our meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall on Tuesday, June 10. Everyone is welcome, and there will be a cup of tea or coffee and a bring-and-buy.

MUMS AND TOTS – Mums and tots will be in St Michael’s Hall every Wednesday during term time from 9am to 11am, to which toddlers, babies and their mums, dads or carers are warmly invited. Toys, books, crafts and refreshments are provided. The cost is £1.50 per session, so come along and enjoy a relaxing morning.
