CHURCH – On Friday, June 13, at 7pm there will be a concert in St Mary Magdalene Church which has been arranged by the church, in conjunction with Eardisley Primary School to raise funds to support Mrs Mealand, a teacher at the school, who is travelling to Tanzania with a party of teachers to forge links with schools. The concert will have an African theme, and tickets can be obtained at the school office.

VILLAGE HALL – The management committee is looking for someone to take on the post of treasurer. Inquiries to Ann Wood, secretary, on 01544 327237.

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION – The next meeting will be held in the New Strand Eardisley, today (Thursday), at 8pm. At 8.30pm, Mr Harvey Jones will be showing a film of Titley Station and other items of local interest. Anyone wishing to see these films are welcome to attend. On Saturday, June 14, the president’s garden party will take place. Should the weather be wet, the event will be moved to the village hall. The committee is grateful to everyone who has supported fundraising activities.

AGE CONCERN – Victoria Wood, the rural information officer for Age Concern for Leominster and district, will be at the post office on Monday. For details, call 01568 611054.

METHODIST CHURCH – Preachers for the 11am services in June will be Mr A Weston, June 8; Mr L Beers, June 15; Rev J Chapman, June 22 and Mr A Weston, June 29. Tea and chat will be on Thursday, June 26, from 2.30pm to 4pm.
