BOWLS - Eardisland almost pulled off a famous victory on Sunday when they travelled to Bulmers, before finally tasting defeat by 75 - 65. Played under a blazing sun the match finished all square on rinks with Robin Williams returning to winning ways, with best rink going to Jonathon Farndon, who maintained his record of winning every away match this season, skipping Alan Rudland, Tony Stokes and Sheila Kruft. In the County Rinks Jonathon Farndon, Tony Stokes, Phil Powell and John Moses pulled off a remarkable first round victory over Bulmers at Kingsland on Friday night, before narrowly losing on Sunday morning to a powerful Kington side who had home advantage.
