THIRTY volunteers working on three projects with Caring for God’s Acre have become Action Earth Heroes.
They have taken part in green grow the grasses, boxes for birds and walling for wildlife projects with the aid of Action Earth Awards from the national campaign run by Community Service Volunteers (CSV), and supported by Morrisons. They learned about wildflower seed collecting and scything at Lea Churchyard, built boxes for spotted flycatchers and rebuilt a drystone wall at Bredwardine churchyard. Caring for God’s Acre organised and provided skilled trainers, materials and volunteers as part of its churchyard task team project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
