A NEW member of Hereford Lions Club, Dave Price, came up with the idea of car boot sales to boost the club’s charity funds and already £5,000 has been added to the kitty to support St Michael’s Hospice. The car boots are held every Saturday on a field on Roman Road, opposite South Hereford Garages with the generous support of the owner and have proved highly popular.

They will continue throughout the summer. Dave said: “Lions Club stages a wide range of fund-raising activities, but knowing the continuing popularity of car boots and having the opportunity to use an ideal site on the edge of the city I felt it was worth a go. I am overwhelmed by its success and delighted so much has been raised to help the hospice.”
