THE annual meeting on November 11, was a business meeting to vote for the committee to lead our branch through the next 12 months. Our team, headed by Aida Harris as president, Therese Stockford as vice president, Nina Jones as treasurer and Joyce Griffin as secretary were all proposed and seconded and remain en bloc. Why change an engine when it’s running smoothly? The ladies have worked hard to find entertaining and interesting talks and our grateful thanks go to them.
The programme for the next 12 months is now organised, thanks to Mary Wakefield Jones who is our programme secretary and there are treasures in store, so please support your WI whenever you can. No speaker was booked for this evening but we all enjoyed a raffle and a Bring and Buy and a good chat, especially hearing about Gill and David Hemsley’s visit to Australia and New Zealand. Many thanks go to Joyce Griffin for hosting the evening.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday, December 10, when we all meet at the Sapey Golf Club (7pm for 7.30pm) for a Christmas dinner.
