CHAIRMAN, Mary Roberts, opened the September meeting by thanking all who had helped in any way at the recent Annual Show.
A small profit had been made, always a bonus. The speaker for the evening was Katherine Kear who came along to demonstrate " Flower arranging from your Garden". Katherine proved to be not only a superb flower arranger, but also an historian, botanist and very entertaining. Four flower arrangements were done with great skill and flair for colour using greenery provided from members' gardens. Several lucky ladies won these arrangements in the raffle.
Our next meeting is on Monday, October 6, when the annual Percy Picton Memorial Lecture takes place.
Stephanie Donaldson will give the lecture "The Princes Organic Garden at Highgrove". The talk will be accompanied with excellent slides. Stephanie is Gardens Editor for Country Living Magazine and author of several books on the gardens belonging to the Prince of Wales.
