THE annual re-dedication service of Herefordshire Trefoil Guilds took place on Thursday, September 18, at St Nicholas Church, Hereford. The Rev Rob North officiated. Mrs Jean Parkes (County Guide Commissioner) read the lesson and 22nd Hereford Guides sang a solo during the service.
In attendance were Hereford Deputy Mayor, Mrs Sylvia Daniels, and also Rev Mark Johnson from St Martins Church who was invested as an Ambassador to Guiding during the service. There were members from Ross, Kington and Bromyard Guilds too.
Another item during the service was the “laying up” of the St Nicholas Guide Unit Standard. There is no longer a Guide Unit at St Nicholas unfortunately so the Standard has been “laid up” for safekeeping in the Church. The next occasion for the Trefoil Guilds is International Fellowship Day to be held at Malvern.
Anyone who has been in guiding can become a member of Trefoil Guilds, even if you never made the Guide Promise. We meet once a month at Scout HQ Westfaling Street for fun and friendship. Enquiries can be made to County Trefoil Chrirman, Mrs M Watkins, tel 01989 720239.
