THE newly established ‘vteam’ made an impact at this year’s Herefordshire Young Farmers Club rally, running a photo competition and completing research into young people’s ideas about volunteering. The vteam is part of a national initiative promoting volunteering among young people aged between 16 and 25 years working with organisations and young people. Nationally recognised v certificates celebrating volunteering achievements are awarded. John Williams, the development manager, said: “This is an important opportunity for young people in Herefordshire making a positive contribution to local communities and also to help themselves.” James Rogers, the youth volunteer advisor, will be recruiting a youth action team in the coming months to make sure the whole programme is ‘youth led’ in all parts of its work. If you want more information on vteam volunteering, contact John or James on 01432 343932.
