THE annual re-dedication service of Herefordshire Trefoil Guilds took place on Thursday, September 18, at St Nicholas Church, Hereford. The Rev Rob North officiated. Mrs Jean Parkes (County Guide Commissioner) read the lesson and 22nd Hereford Guides sang a solo during the service.

THE youth club has been up running now for four years and in that time has grown rapidly to provide youngsters between the ages of 10 and 16 with a place to go in the evenings and holidays.

Meeting on the second Thursday afternoon of every month at the Young Farmers’ Club, Tillington Road, this group continues to have a varied range of talks and demonstrations and, twice a year, workshop days.

At the meeting of the Kington U3A, members were entertained by Janet Thomas, who gave an amusing and informative talk about her early career as a studio manager for BBC radio.

AT the June meeting, plans were made for the garden party at Dora Roberson’s in July. Our speaker, Mr David Barrie of Nature’s Own, gave an informative talk on nutrition and essential vitamins and minerals.
