MAY 7, the day of the May meeting, was the day townwomen’s guilds throughout the country enjoyed a free cup of tea to celebrate the official beginning of 80 years of the townswomen’s organisation.

HEREFORD Wye Valley Rotary Club recently organised a special ‘Evening with John Challis’ at Hedley Lodge. Some 140 guests enjoyed an entertaining talk and anecdotes by ‘Boycie’ on his 40-year career in the theatre and TV.

THE society held its monthly meeting at St Martin’s Parish Hall on May 6. The Gloucester stamp club visited, and four of their members gave a variety of displays, which were well received and appreciated by the Hereford members.

MARCHES Ringcraft held a match on April 24 under Mrs Pat Withers (Witherford Pugs & Boxers) and found her best in match in Gill Watts Pomeranian (Rooney) and her best puppy in match in Roscoe (King Charles Spaniel).
