A HEREFORDSHIRE pensioner has discovered a marvel growing in her own back garden.
Elizabeth Davies, from Canon Pyon, found a foxglove only four feet shorter than a London bus. The distinctive plant, recognised by its bellshaped flowers, has grown to 9ft and dwarfs everything in the garden. The average height is about 4ft, but Elizabeth did not use any fertiliser or pesticides.
“I’ve heard of giant sunflowers but a giant foxglove is something I haven’t seen before,”
she said.
