THE children attending the Dilwyn Playgroup have been painting their own flower pots and nurturing seedlings as their contribution to the village entry in the Britain in Bloom competition, which will take place on July 24.
Three-year-old Ashleigh Williams is pleased to report that their first strawberry has now been harvested.
The children are also keen to participate in fund-raising events as well and have recently paid £1 each to bring a favourite toy to a teddy bears picnic in the school grounds as part of ‘The Huge Challenge’’ supporting Paddington Bear’s favourite charity’ the Touching Tiny Lives Appeal.
Group supervisor Stephanie Daniel joined Dilwyn Playgroup in November last year and has seen enrolment rise to 26 children. There will be a few spaces available at the start of the September term, when some of the children transfer to the junior school. Children would be welcome to attend on a trial basis. Parents should call in any weekday morning or telephone 07975 994309.
