PARISH COUNCIL – At the parish council meeting on September 11, there were eight councillors present, absence for one councillor was approved, five members of the public attended, CSO Dave Rowley and the clerk. The minutes of the meeting held on July 15, having been previously circulated, were approved.
During public participation a member of the public said that the children of Clehonger now have a free school bus to Kingstone High School as the road has been classified as dangerous and thanked the parish council for its support in securing this. It was then suggested that if a new shelter is placed on the playing field, could it be placed near to where the bus stops, so that it could act as a bus shelter for the children in the morning.
Money for a youth shelter needs to be found through another source and neighbours’ views need to be sought before it is placed anywhere. The clerk is to ask Laura Tyler (Herefordshire Council) for an update.
CSO Rowley said that drink is always an issue. Councillor Amanda Edwards asked what is being done about the source of buying. This is being monitored and older people were buying alcohol for the youngsters. The clerk is to write again to try and get the field a non-drinking designated area.
The parish council was also thanked for the pavement being installed along Birchill Road.
CSO Rowley gave out copies of the Golden Valley News Beat and reported exactly what is covered in anti-social behaviour and how the ASBO works. He also asked members of the public to telephone every incident as they all get logged.
CSO Rowley also reported that every parent at Clehonger Primary School had been given a letter regarding safe parking outside the school and that parking tickets can be issued.
Daffodil bulbs are to be planted opposite Silverdale island by Gosmore Road, at the church turn (on the wide section) and alongside the fence down to the village hall. These are to be planted by the probation service. The next parish council meeting is today (Thursday) at Innesfield Community Centre at 7.30pm. As always, members of the public are most welcome.
