LECTURE – Malvern Hills Decorative and Fine Arts Society is holding a special lecture at Colwall Village Hall next Wednesday at 7.30pm when Painton Cowen, the author of many books on stained glass, will give a lecture on English stained glass windows, with special reference to many local churches. The cost of the lecture will be £10 per person to include a glass of wine and light refreshments. Tickets are available on the door from 7pm.
SALE – There will be a table-top sale on Saturday, October 25, in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice. This will take place between 11am and 1pm at the British Legion Club in Crescent Road.
ICE-SKATING – Colwall Parish Council presents ‘Youth in Colwall and Ice Skating’ at Solihull Ice Rink on Tuesday, October 28. Tickets are £6 which includes bus, entry and skate hire. A booking form can be obtained online at colwall.net or call Jim Beard on 540941. This is for ages nine to 15 inclusive. Under nines must be accompanied by an adult (16 plus). Book early to avoid disappointment.
DATE FOR YOUR DIARY – Colwall Players present The Haunted Through Lounge and Recessed Dining Nook at Farndale Castle, another comedy in the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen Guild productions by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jnr. This will be in the village hall from Thursday, October 30, until Saturday, November 1. Tickets are available from John Goodwin estate agent on 01684 540300.
