AUTUMN FAYRE – Proceeds from the autumn fayre held in aid of Leinthall Earles and Aymestrey churches were more than £1,200.
VILLAGE HALL – On Monday evenings from 7pm carpet bowling continues. The matches between Aymestrey members to decide the singles and doubles trophies are now nearly completed and prizes will be presented at the Christmas dinner which will be held on Monday, December 8, at the Riverside Inn.
DANCING CLASSES – Ballroom dancing classes for beginners or improvers take place on the first three Thursdays each month at 8pm. For details, call Mike Evans on 01568 708540.
WI – Aymestrey WI welcomed members of its paired institute, Weobley, to a special social evening last Tuesday. Members took part in a fun quiz and held a bring-and-buy stall and raffle. Eight members will join others from Herefordshire branches when they travel to the Christmas market in Bath on Wednesday, December 3. Members are to meet in the fire station car park in Leominster at 8am. The Christmas meal will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at the Bush Inn, Bush Bank. Members will meet there at 7pm for 7.30pm. FUN QUIZ – The November quiz will take place tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm, when teams of up to four members will compete for the cash prize. £5 per team.
PUDDING EVENING – The next event in aid of St Andrew’s Church, Leinthall Earles, Restoration Appeal is a pudding evening which will be held in Aymestrey Village Hall on Saturday at 8pm. Entertainment will be provided by David Harding and there will be a raffle. Tickets (to include the first drink) are £7 for adults and £3.50 for children and are available from Wendy on 01568 780237 or from PCC members.
NATURE TRUST – The Aymestrey branch of the Nature Trust will hold its November meeting in Aymestrey Village Hall on Thursday, November 27, at 7.30pm when John Tucker will give a talk ‘A Song in the Bush is Worth a Bird in the Hand’.
