PARISH COUNCIL – Some of the matters to be discussed at the parish council meeting tonight (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the Portway Inn Hotel will be the setting of the 2009/2010 precept, litter picking for all villages, a joint meeting with Madley Parish Council, the quiet lanes proposal for Byford, a new proposal for access to St Andrew’s Church, Bridge Sollers and the BT kiosk and polytunnels at Bishopstone.

VILLAGE LOTTERY – Lyn Compton wins £25 with her number 23.

POLICE – On November 25, CSO Laurence Hull will retire. The parish group wish him a long and happy retirement after more than 22 years’ service.

MOBILE LIBRARY – The next visit will be in Bishopstone by the telephone box next Wednesday between 10.45am and 11.15am.

POLICE TELEPHONE NUMBER – A new (non-emergency) telephone number has been announced: 0300 333 3000.

CYCLING – A simple message from the police is: If you are cycling after lighting-up time then you MUST have lights on your bike.
