ROAD CLOSURE – Due to the water mains renewal being carried out locally, U49202 Yatton common road will be closed from its junction with the A4110 Aymestrey to Wigmore Road to its junction with U92403 Lower Yatton Lane, Yatton. The alternative route is A4110 Aymestrey to Brinshope–U92400 Brinshope to Leinthall Earles and vice versa. The closure will be from November 10 for three weeks.
POETRY MONTHLY – Tony Walton will be holding his November poetry monthly meeting in Aymestrey Village Hall at 8pm tomorrow (Friday) when folks can come along and read their own poetry or any of their favourite poems at an informal friendly gathering. Call Tony on 01568 770177 for more information.
WI – A social evening with Leinthall Earles & Aymestrey’s paired WI, Weobley, will be held next Tuesday at 7.30pm. There will be a bring-and-buy stall and a fun quiz. Refreshments will be supplied by all the members AUTUMN FAYRE – The annual autumn fayre held last Saturday was a great success with more people than ever attending. One of the main attractions was bric-a-brac from Gatley, much of which was auctioned off by Andrew Bachelor, auctioneer for the afternoon. The fayre was held in aid of Leinthall Earles and Aymestrey churches.
FUN QUIZ NIGHT – The next quiz night will be held on Friday, November 21, in the village hall at 8pm. Teams of up to four members at £5.
PUDDING EVENING – The next event in aid of St Andrew’s Church, Leinthall Earles, restoration appeal is a pudding evening in Aymestrey Village Hall on Saturday, November 22, at 8pm. Entertainment will be provided by David Harding and there will be a raffle. Ticket prices (to include the first drink) are £7 for adults and £3.50 for children and are available from Wendy on 01568 780237 or from PCC members.
