ARCHAEOLOGY OF BODENHAM – Peter Dorling will give an illustrated talk on the archaeology of Bodenham at 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 16, at 7.30pm at Siward James. Admission is just £1, to include refreshments. Details on 01568 797215/797867.

PARISH COUNCIL – At Monday’s parish council meeting, councillors heard Mrs Veronica Parker thank the 398 local people who had signed her petition in support of the Bodenham Pharmacy. The petition has now been sent to Bill Wiggin MP.

FLICKS IN THE STICKS – In the parish hall on Friday, September 12, The Other Boleyn Girl (Cert 12A) will be shown. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm, and the cost is £3.50. Rereshments available.

LUGG VALLEY FRIENDS CANCER RESEARCH – There is to be a sponsored three or seven-mile walk around Bodenham this Sunday, starting at 10am at the Parish Hall. Details on 01568 797280 or 797557.

BODENHAM FLOWER FESTIVAL – The Flower Festival will run from September 19 to 22, with flower displays in the church, a wine and cheese evening, a harvest supper, and ‘an evening of music and magic’ on the Saturday. Details on 01568 797095/428.

BODENHAM WI – The WI will meet at the Parish Hall next Tuesday at 7.30pm to hear Paul Weir give a talk and slide show on The County Air Ambulance.

BODENHAM LEISURE CLUB – The Leisure Club’s mystery trip will start at 10.30am next Monday at the Parish Hall. No clues as to the destination, but lunch has been arranged for Kington Golf Club, one of the highest in the country. Details and bookings on 01568 797268.
