PARISH COUNCIL - The Allensmore annual parish meeting will take place at the village hall at 8pm on Thursday, May 22. This will be followed by the parish council annual meeting. All are welcome to attend.

Don't miss the Bredwardine & Brobury Victorian Fair & Picnic on Sunday, June 8th! From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the beautiful gardens of Brobury House located in Brobury on the edge of the River Wye. Bring a picnic lunch. Stay for the Victorian attractions which will include Period Dress, Gypsy Dancing, Fortune Telling, Plant & Veg Stall, Homemade Sweets Stall, Tombola, Lawn Skittles, Croquet, Coconut Shy, Spinning Wheel, Melodeon music and more. Victorian Cakes, Tea and Ice Creams Cornets are available for purchase. Admission Fee: £3 for Adults. £1 for Children. All proceeds in aid of St Andrew's Church and Bredwardine & Brobury Village Hall.

Next volunteer work day on the Merbach Common is due to take place on Wednesday 21st May. We will continue to make steps on the public footpath that runs up through the woodland in the north-eastern corner of the common. Plan to meet at 10:00 am at the entrance gate to the common next to Pendle Cottage (formerly Hicockolorum). Everyone is welcome to come along. No previous experience is required as training in the use of tools will be given and you can work as hard or as little as you like! Please wear stout footwear and bring waterproofs in case of wet weather. A packed lunch and drink is also recommended.

A big reminder! 'Crafta Webb', directed by Adrian Lambert, is showing at The Hay Festival on Friday May 23rd at 6.30 pm. Tickets are £3.00 - The Booking office number is 0870 990 1299. More details of the event are on the Festival website, www.hayfestival.com This is another local screening of "our" film. Plan to attend and why not persuade your friends and relatives, particularly the local ones, who may not have had the big screen experience yet to come along!!! We had to turn people away at Borderlines, so please book early. We will be screening the drama and the documentary.
