SCHOOL OPEN DAY – Burley Gate Primary School will hold an open afternoon tomorrow (Friday) from 1.45pm to 3pm. Staff and governors will be on hand to highlight activities in the reception classroom. Everyone is welcome.

SLOVAKIA 2009 – Following the successful visit of a group from Slovakia earlier this year, there is now an invitation for a return visit in 2009. Anyone interested in going is invited to a meeting at Wanaki, Burley Gate, at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 20. RACE NIGHT – Parlour Derby will be held at Burley Gate Village Hall on Saturday, November 29, in aid of St Mary’s at Much Cowarne. Sponsors of races or horses should call Ted Parkes on 01432 820402.

PARISH COUNCILS – The Much Cowarne Group and Ocle Pychard Group parish councils will both meet in the village hall at Burley Gate on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

A NEW RECTOR – Following the retirement of Rev Chris Fletcher there will be a consultation on the choice of a new rector for Bredenbury United Benefice with Ullingswick at Pencombe on Sunday, November 23. A service at 10.30am will be followed by the consultation and a bring-and-share lunch in the village hall.
