      <description>
  Kington Market McCartneys of Kington report an excellent store cattle trade to start the New Year on Tuesday, January 6. A smaller entry of quality cattle forward sold to a full ring of buyers from

  all over the region. Well-bred cattle were at market premiums. The quality of the cattle at the sale was good. Top price paid for cattle on the day was £928 for some Limousin cross steers from
  Duncan Cameron ltd; steers averaged £1.78 per kg with a top of £1.90 per kg for some British Blue cross steers from T Hughes &amp;amp; Sons. Heifers averaged £1.62 per kg with a top of £1.65 per kg for
  some Charolais cross heifers from Brian Evans. All steers forward at the sale averaged £762 per head with a top of £928 per head; all heifers forward at the sale averaged £695 per head with a top
  of £800 per head In our February sale of store cattle and cows and calves we expect an excellent trade and guaranteed support from buyers. Please note, all cattle over 42 days of age will need to
