ADDITIONAL funding has been made available to improve facilities and water quality in some sensitive areas of Herefordshire.
The catchment areas of the Rivers Wye, Teme, Lugg and Leadon in the county are the ones that qualify and farmers are urged to seek grants before the deadline of April 30.
A maximum of £8,000 is available for each project and include such things as covering livestock yards and slurry stores, resurfacing gateways, feeding areas and tracks and installing sediment ponds or drainage works.
Ashley Lilley of Savills Agribusiness believes farmers within the catchment areas should seriously consider going for a grant.
“As regulations regarding water pollution become increasingly stringent and penalities likely to increase, this is an opportunity too good to miss,” he said.
