FUNNY things have been happening at Whyle House Farm near Leominster.
Andy and Frances Offer know pretty accurately when lambs are due but this year they have been caught on the hop.
Two ewes gave birth to twins before their time – and both sets were black.
“We don’t produce black lambs here so some funny business has been going on,” said Andy.
“We think our neighbour’s tup must have got through the fence, or maybe our ewes got out, but either way we’ve had an early surprise here at Whyle House Lamb.”
The farm currently carries 90 ewes and hopes to deliver 160 lambs this season.
Like last year, Andy and Frances want families to visit the farm to give children and parents the chance to experience getting up close with ewes and baby lambs and to discuss the husbandry in producing good quality lamb.
They say it was a huge success last year and plan to open their farm to visitors every afternoon from 2pm to 5pm until Sunday, April 11.
