THIS year’s Lea Show promises to be a fantastic countryside day out for all the family.

The event, on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, will feature the usual horse show from 9am.

Then from 2pm, a fancy dress parade for children or adults on ponies or horses kicks off the afternoon’s main ring events.

After that, the canine performers take over with a display by the popular Leominster-based Paws for Thought dog team.

There will also be dance displays and a juggling show, as wll as an outdoor laser combat zone new for this year, and activities for children at the field throughout the day.

Entries for the exemption dog show and obedience classes will be taken from noon.

Entries can still be taken until Saturday, August 29, for the flower, vegetable and craft marquee.

The Lea show, which started as a village fete in 1944, is now in its 65th year. To commemorate its roots, this year’s show will feature local ploughmen using vintage machinery to work a field next to the show site.
