Young grazing steers sold between £845 - £1,070.
A large consignment of Hereford cross from Mesr WR Morris and Son sold extremely well to a top of £1,075 (16 months).
Other consignments of native bred sold in excess of £1,000.
Continental cross sold at £1,120, £1,095, £1,075, £1,000, etc.
The overall average for steers was 209.72p/kg and £1,012.56 per head.
Heifers were dominated by native bred cattle selling to a top of £1,100 for a run of Blonde D'Aquitaine cross heifers (21 months, 510 kg).
Hereford cross sold to £980 (15 months) from Mesr Boultbee Brooks Ltd.
The overall average was 198.60p/kg and £895.36 per head.
28 Rearing calves: A quality entry of Hereford cross calves saw a flying trade selling to a top of £540 for bulls and £450 for heifers.
Rearing bull calves sold to £362 and heifers to £335.
Charolais cross rearing bull calves sold to £408 and heifers to £335.
British Friesian bull calves sold to £365 and £270.

Holstein Friesian 5th Calvers to 1,140gns: Holstein Friesian cows sold to a very good trade at Ross-on-Wye Cattle Market with 5th calvers selling to 1,140gns (£1,197) from Howard Woolliams, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire.
There were no calved heifers on offer.
Served heifers sold to 720gns.
July 18
60 Finished Cattle (50 Clean Cattle, 10 Cull Cows): A smaller entry due to the Royal Welsh Show and good hay making weather.
Heavyweights sold well, however out of spec cattle lowered the averages.
A fast trade, many more could have been sold to advantage.
Top price per kilo: 222 pence for an entry from Mesr DE and SJ Cheacker, Pilning.
Top price per head: £1,382.16 for an entry from the same vendor.
10 Cull cows: A smaller entry of cull cattle sold to a good trade, achieving a top price of 134p/kg and an improved average of 116.8p/kg.
1,675 Prime lambs: A shorter entry of lambs as to be expected due to Royal Welsh Show.
Strongest demand on quality export lambs selling to a top of 262p/kg.
Heavy lambs again were in short supply selling between £92 - £99.50.
The overall average was 195.6p/kg, £16.91 dearer than this week last year!
The overall average price was £82.75 per head (average weight 42.78kg).
Top price of Prime Lambs per kilo: 262.00p for an entry from Mesr B Blandford and Sons, Eastnor.
Top price of Prime Lambs per head: £99.50 for an entry from Mr M Guest, Woolaston.
421 Cull ewes and rams: An increased entry of ewes met a continued good trade.
Continentals sold to the top price of £120.
Suffolks sold to £99, mules to £80.
Considering the varied quality forward the overall average was an impressive £76.45.
First quality ewes sold from £90, second quality sold from £65, small and plain ewes sold to this figure.
A short entry of Rams also met another good trade selling to an average of £98.60.
