100 FINISHED Cattle: A similar entry of cattle sold to a firmer trade. There was certainly more spark with keen bidding on all sorts forward. There were some good runs of cattle which met spirited bidding from 200-210 pence. The entry was nowhere near enough for the demand and many more could readily have been sold.

22 Cull Cows - Overall Average £832 (120 pence): A short entry sold to another good trade. No smart cows forward but better sorts to 130.5 pence. There was keen bidding on heavier cows which sold to £1,176. More cows urgently needed.

1,648 Spring lambs: Spring Lambs met strong demand selling to a top of 279p/kg, £106 (38kg). Continental export lambs saw strong demand with best sorts selling from 220p/kg. Heavy lambs sold to 234p. The SQQ was 207.26p/kg. The overall average price per head was £81.49 (39.7kg).

482 Hoggets: A good entry of 482 hogs met a firm trade selling to a top of £80 and achieving an average price of 171p/kg. Overall hogs averaged £69.92 per head, average weight 45kgs

372 cull ewes and rams: A similar entry of ewes met a comparable trade to the previous week. Top quality ewes in short supply but those forward sold to £100. Suffolks sold to £96, Mules to £80 leaving an acceptable overall average of £80.20. First quality ewes sold from £90, second quality from £65, small and plain ewes sold to this figure.
