STORE Cattle – 751: A very good entry with some nice cattle in it and a strong trade. The recent warm weather and rain together with an increase in price in the fat ring certainly made a difference. The prize winners in the show classes were:-

In particular breeding stock were a very strong trade with some nice heifers and calves. These reached £2010.00 per couple and averaged £1788.00. Heifers with heifer calves reached £1660.00. Cows and calves reached £1300.00. Feeding cows reached £835.00 (top 126.0p/kg average 108.0p/kg). All of the steers of whatever type, quality and size averaged 194.0p/kg, all of the heifers 190.0p/kg and all of the bulls to include several Friesians and over age bulls 190.0p/kg.
