A FATHER and son pig farming team from Herefordshire have won a top national prize.
Martin Lewis and his father, Malcolm, farm in Bodenham where they have about 250 sows.
Their work has seen them awarded the Andrew Stockings Cup during the AGM of the Thames Valley Cambac.
"We have a grading system, and our pigs get graded," said Mr Lewis junior, who is 42.
"We received the best percentage in the top grade for the past 12 months.
"I didn't even know we were in the running for it, but it's great to win. First place usually goes to the big pig farmers from Yorkshire."
The pair receive a trophy in honour of their achievement.
