There were 10 buyers in attendance and many more could readily have been sold. Better cattle sold particularly well with best sorts to 234 pence. Prices were way ahead of deadweight prices which is excellent news for the live ring.

33 cull cows and over 36 month clean: An improved entry of cull cattle sold to an excellent trade. Best continentals to 167 pence to generate £1,463. Friesians also sold well up to 135 pence. More cows could readily have been sold.

1287 hoggets: An improved entry of hoggets met a very strong demand on all classes selling to £92, with several consignments achieving £90 plus. Top price per kilo was 198p. The overall SQQ was 186p/kg. More hogs could easily have been sold. The overall average price of hoggets was £84.24 per head (average weight 46kg).

452 cull ewes and rams: An increased entry of ewes met a similar good trade with seven buyers in attendance. Top quality ewes in short supply but those forward sold to £105. Considering the varied quality present the overall average was an impressive £73.60. First quality ewes sold from £80, second quality from £60. Small and plain ewes sold to this figure.
