Prime lambs - 2013: At last something to be pleased with! SQQ 159.3p - Monday national - 150.6p, Tuesday national - 157.5p, Hereford Wednesday - 159.3p. Best export 184.5p, 175.5p, 173.4p, 171.6p, 170.7p, 168.4p, 167.8p. Heavies £85, £81, £79, £77.50, £76.80, £76, £75. Generally better all through but 45-48kg (supermarket weight) quite selective, with one firm much quieter than expected after buying heavily and too dear yesterday. A quick rise is not always sustainable, 'small forward steps' are far more likely to last, than 'flash in the pan'. Now that the big numbers of September and October are gone we should see some sustainable forward progress.
