HEREFORD'S deputy mayor officially opened a residents' polytunnel scheme at a residential home in the south of the county.
Cllr Jim Kenyon called in to Dulas Court Residential Home in Ewyas Harold to unveil the project.
The idea for the polytunnel came from residents' shared love of gardening.
Many wanted to get involved, with some residents interested in growing products for chutneys, while others wanted to provide fresh home grown food for the kitchen.
The residents' committee then decided to fund raise to buy their own polytunnel.
The project has meant some residents can get out and walk more as they are keen to take part in the growing and nurturing of the plants.
