HEREFORDSHIRE Young Farmers will be displaying their pulling power at the weekend at the finals of the NFYFC Tug of War competitions at the Tenbury Countryside Show.

The county will be represented in both the men’s and women’s finals.

A total of 150 young farmers from across England and Wales will take part.

The event promises to be a battle of willpower and strength in three sections – women, men and mixed under-17s – with the finals for each section taking place in the grand ring from 4.45 pm.

The competition, which is held annually, is the culmination of months of hard training for many YFC members, who will also have competed in county and area rounds to reach the national finals.

Hannah Talbot, NFYFC competitions chairman, said: “Competitions are at the heart of YFCs, from club level right up to national and it's always brilliant to see the amount of talent we have in our membership.”

Supporters can buy tickets for Tenbury Countryside Show from the NFYFC office at a discounted rate of £8 for adults and £2 for children.

Under-fives go free.
