A DELEGATION from the European Parliament is to visit two farms in Herefordshire.
Members of its Agriculture Committee will visit Lower Hope Farms in Ullingswick, near Bromyard, and Garnons, in Byford near Hereford, on Tuesday.
The delegation is visiting at the invitation of Herefordshire MEP Anthea McIntyre.
The purpose of the visit, the first of its kind to the West Midlands, is to demonstrate the diversity of the county's agricultural and horticultural industries.
It will also showcase a number of innovative and environmentally sustainable projects.
“I hope that the visit, discussions with members of both the House of Lords and House of Commons Agriculture Committees and representatives of both the NFU and CLA will show colleagues on the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee that the UK’s proposed reforms of the Common Agriculture Policy are based on sound farming and horticultural experience,” said Miss McIntyre ahead of the visit.
