NFU president Peter Kendall will be in Herefordshire to discuss pressing farming issues as part of a whistle-stop tour.
The union’s leader will meet county farmers on Monday (March 11) at the Hereford NFU branch meeting before
attending a 'next generation' breakfast meeting the following day.
Horse meat, Schmallenberg disease, the impact of European legislation on county farmers and supermarket dominance
are set to be discussed.
The branch meeting will be at the Green Man, Fownhope, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Kier Rogers, who has a mixed farm at Hampton Bishop, will chair the meeting.
At the event Mr Kendall will give a short address and then take questions.
The following day Herefordshire Young Farmers and NFU members will hold a breakfast meeting with Mr Kendall at Hereford Livestock Market.
The meeting on Tuesday (March 12) will take place from 8am to 9.30am and be chaired by agricultural contractor Alex Ross, Herefordshire Young Farmers chairman.
The informal event will offer younger NFU members and those from the young farmers’ clubs a chance to speak
directly to Mr Kendall about the future of the industry.
Places can be booked for the breakfast meeting by calling Hereford NFU on 01432 269840.
